Beliawanis launch website

KUALA LUMPUR: BeliaWanis MCA will launch its membership card and website on Friday.
The launch will be held at 7pm at Auditorium MCA, Level 3, Wisma MCA, and is open to the public.
“At the moment, we have 1,000 registered members and are hoping to hit the 2,000 benchmark,” said Carol Chew, BeliaWanis' national chairperson.
She called on young Malaysian Chinese women aged between 18 and 40 to join the organisation.
“BeliaWanis has been organising activities and forums on social issues over the past decade. It has educated many young Malaysian women about gender sensitisation and their rights.
“It has also identified, nurtured, groomed and mentored young women to become politicians,” Chew said, adding that it was a platform for young women to come and learn political leadership skills.
“The website will enable members and the public to exchange view points, discuss, obtain BeliaWanis information, and promote political, economic and educational awareness among Chinese youths,” she said.
